In lebanon it’s legal to buy votes
OK so you can’t buy the votes outright, but it is legal to pay for transporation to the election. This means a party can pay for someone’s flight into the country, give them some spending money, thus buying their vote (makes sense for poor people paying for a bus ride but not a $2,000 flight from overseas).
Pretty cool! It gets better, the political party can then give the voter a pre-marked ballot so they can count up the number of “purchased” votes after the election to see how many of the votes they bought actually voted the way they wanted to!
THEREFORE it’s very likely that the US (Iran, & Saudi’s) have paid for a lot of votes because the ellection was so close this year… and I guess the US has deeper pockets because 14 March, the pro-western party, won. Yay.
