Something to think about.
preel: Consumption Strike Great thoughts on how to adjust your interest free loan to the govt through withholding too much money. seriously, this could be the best/only way to get a message across. Interesting article - not sure straving the economy only hurts the government/bankers/insiders but it is an interesting idea and the “list of demands” if fun.

The supreme court nailed it today
Overturned 2nd circut - Ricci vs DeStaphano - which overturned Sotomyers previous ruling (sided w/ white firefighters) - citing that it violates, title 7, the civil rights act Also said 911 vicitims can’t sue Saudia Arabia for funding the 911 acts - you can sue foreign entities! We sold 104 billion of treasury debt this week
preel: brog: Over a 100 billion a week, 104 is a record, beating last weeks 101 billlion. We will see a $2 trillion worth of new debt issued this year. The best part about this is the following: (re: wsj) On Wednesday, the indirect bid for the $37 billion five-year note jumped to a record high of 62.8%, compared with 30.8% last month. And in Tuesday’s, the $40 billion two-year note...

follow up on unemployment BS
So I honestly do not fully understand the numbers, do what you will with them… employment numbers are gathered using an archaic system that polls a variety of employeers and asks them if they are hirng or firing.  What likely should be used as a more accurate real time indicator is the income tax payed every month rather than polling random companyies. Regaurdless, the last months number...

Rebulican Jeff Flake tried his best tonight on C-Span to remove several earmarks from the 65 Billion dolloar spending bill.  Don’t know much about Flake, but he called out some good ones.  Democrats out voted him on all this amendments to remove the earmarks, they all thanked him for his fiscial responsibility, but not for their earmarks. One such example is a 1 million dolloar grant to...

Who wants to be a czar?
Republican John Carter in the US House just brought up a very interesting point.  Typically people that the president appoints need to be confirmed by the senate before performing any duties. Our current president has now appointed 22 czars to oversee their respective areas.  He also brought up that the simple use of czars is slightly f-ed up because it’s typically used to refer to emperor...

In lebanon it's legal to buy votes
OK so you can’t buy the votes outright, but it is legal to pay for transporation to the election.  This means a party can pay for someone’s flight into the country, give them some spending money, thus buying their vote (makes sense for poor people paying for a bus ride but not a $2,000 flight from overseas). Pretty cool!  It gets better, the political party can then give the voter a...

Iranians vote morebetterer than US
US voter turnout was the highest in 40 years in ‘08 w/ a turnout of 61%.  The previous Irianian election reported about the same, but Iran’s 10th presidential election on Friday, a record 85% turnout. Even in an ellection that is mostly for show, becuase the Supreme leader - Ali Khamenei - is the actual guy in charge, Iranian voters put on a more democratic showing than the US ever...

The US lost 345,000 job last month!  Yay!  Yes that’s actually better news, after a revised 504,000 loss in April, reported by the Labor Department. The continued bad news is that the overall unemployment rate increased to 9.4 percent, the highest in the lifetime of anyone younger than 27 years old.

2nd Amendment doesn't apply in Chicago
A Chicago ordinance banning handguns and automatic weapons within city limits was upheld by a U.S. Court of Appeals.  Next stop supreme court. The law took effect in 1982 but doesn’t apply to ex-military or law enforcement. Source: http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7015374795

C-Span is the best thing on TV
Amazing questions asked by congress today to GM and Chrysler CEOs.  The basic problem is concerning dealship franchises.  Several thoughts come to mind. Dealerships are franchses, if you’re an owner of a dealership and you have a new contract and you don’t like it, find a new business or don’t sign the contract.  Do not complain to congress.  Your rights aren’t being taken...
