The SEC is citing executive privilege
instead of actually answering questions before congress. Though the lead attorney for the SEC admitted to not checking to see if they have the power to use executive privilege. They were asked about the Madeoff scandal and their ineptitude while taking no action even after they were warned about it.

We overpaid using TARP
Elizabeth Warren, congressional oversight chair on TARP, testified before congress on 2/5 and stated that we overpaid by 78 BILLION dolloars on the day of transactions for equity in the banks. That’s like buying 100 shares of apple stock for around 19,000 when it should only cost around 10,000. There’s a report out today that details the desparity.

Save OR Create 3.5 Million jobs
The stimulus package is supposed to “Create or Save” 3.5 million jobs. That’s a rage of 7 million jobs - if you save 3.5 million that’s good. If you create 3.5 million then that’s 7 million more people working than if “nothing is done”. That’s a big f-ing difference ~ the US total workforce which is around 150 million?

Obama set rules preventing former lobbyists from overseeing industries that had employed them… BUT the president waved the rule to permit Lynn to serve as deputy secretary (who has authority over budget and procurement decisions). That’s the change we all need… eventually.
